Easter Egg Hunt

On March 22nd 2008 the Homeowners Association, the Indian Rocks Beach Parks & Recreation Board, and the City of Indian Rocks Beach sponsored an Easter Egg Hunt in the Nature Preserve park. Children 12 and under were invited to participate. There were plenty of arts & crafts, a clown and of course the Easter Bunny. After the hunt, the kids participated in sack races, three legged races and egg carrying contests.

Thanks to all the volunteers that came out to help hide eggs, set-up and clean-up. A big thank you goes to city employee Randy Schwab, who coordinated the event and the games!

Toy Drive & Christmas Social

The Homeowners Association sponsored a Toy Drive & Christmas Social Wednesday, December 20th at Chic-A-Si Park. Entertainment was provided by the barbershop quartet, Songfellows. Everyone was asked to bring an unwrapped toy and was given a free membership in the Homeowners Association.

The response was wonderful. We had a great turnout, the weather was perfect and we collected hundreds of toys. Some of the toys were used for the remaining children on the Indian Rocks Beach City Angel Tree in City Hall, and the rest were distributed to Shirley Steele who works with the Rainbow Village just over the bridge.

Thank you to all who volunteered and participated, including The Visitor’s Center on Walsingham Rd., USA G on Gulf Blvd., and The Island Surf Shop on Gulf Blvd for collecting toys during the month of December. Thanks also to Thomas Leyman, President of the Indian Rocks Volunteer Firemens Association and his 25 Volunteers for donating a truck full of toys, in their antique Fire Truck.
